Direct Booking FAQ

You can book available accommodation directly through the MJS Hideaways booking system on this website.

You may also contact us if you have questions before booking or need assistance with a larger, longer or special-event reservation.

Direct reservations are subject to the Booking Terms & Conditions, Cancellation & Refund Policy and House Rules.

Direct booking prices are displayed in United States dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated.

The total shown and accepted at checkout is the confirmed booking price, subject to any later changes you request and we approve.

Direct website payments can be made securely using the payment methods available at checkout.

For smaller standard reservations, full payment is normally required at booking.

For larger reservations, an approved initial payment or instalment arrangement may be available.

It depends on the booking value and how far in advance you reserve.

For standard reservations:

US$500 or less: full payment at booking.

Over US$500: where the reservation is made more than 14 days before arrival, an initial payment of 30% may be accepted, with the remaining balance due no later than 14 days before check-in.

Bookings made within 14 days of arrival require full payment.

Yes, for some larger reservations.

Standard reservations of US$1,000 or more, made at least 90 days before arrival, may qualify for a monthly instalment plan.

A 30% initial payment is required, with the remaining amount divided into scheduled payments. The full balance must be paid no later than 14 days before check-in.

Instalment plans are subject to approval.

Carnival and designated special-event bookings have their own payment schedule.

Yes. You are welcome to pay an instalment or the full remaining balance early.

Yes. Direct reservations normally require a US$200 refundable security deposit, collected separately from the accommodation charge.

The deposit is normally returned within 7 days after check-out, following inspection of the accommodation, provided there are no legitimate deductions.

For returning guests with a satisfactory previous stay history, MJS Hideaways may choose to waive the security deposit. Waivers are discretionary and apply to the individual reservation only.

Deductions may be made for documented costs arising from matters such as:

damage, missing items, excessive cleaning, lost keys or access devices, unauthorised occupancy or other costs resulting from a breach of the booking conditions.

Normal wear and tear is not charged.

For ordinary direct reservations:

Carnival and designated special-event bookings have a separate cancellation schedule.

If some or all of your cancelled dates are subsequently booked by another guest, MJS Hideaways may, at its discretion, provide an additional refund beyond the amount otherwise due under the cancellation policy.

The amount depends on factors such as how many nights are rebooked, the value of the replacement reservation and any non-recoverable costs.

Any additional refund would normally be considered once the replacement reservation has been fully paid or completed.

Where possible, a refund will be returned through the original payment method.

If the payment provider cannot process a partial refund, the amount may be returned by bank transfer, PayPal or another mutually agreed method.

Any genuine transfer or currency-conversion cost would only be deducted if it is actually incurred and disclosed.

Standard check-in is from 3:00 pm.

Early check-in may be available depending on the previous guest’s departure, housekeeping and availability.

Where possible, we may allow early check-in at no additional charge. In other circumstances, a fee may apply.

Early check-in must be approved in advance.

Standard check-out is by 11:00 am.

Late check-out may be available subject to availability and prior approval.

Where circumstances allow, MJS Hideaways may waive or reduce the late check-out fee.

These are standard charges only. A fee may be waived or reduced at our discretion.

Yes. We ask guests to provide an estimated arrival and departure time so we can coordinate check-in, check-out and housekeeping.

Your estimated time does not automatically approve an early check-in or late check-out.

The full property address and arrival information are provided to confirmed guests before check-in.

Additional guests may sometimes be approved in advance.

For Savannah in particular, larger groups may be considered case by case where everyone is comfortable with the available sleeping arrangements and bathroom facilities.

Additional charges or conditions may apply.

Please do not arrive with additional overnight guests without prior approval.

Additional sleeping arrangements, including air mattresses, may be permitted with prior approval, particularly for approved larger Savannah groups.

Please discuss the proposed guest count and sleeping arrangement before arrival.

No. Pets are not permitted at MJS Hideaways, subject to any legal obligations relating to assistance animals.

Standard direct reservations carry a US$60 cleaning fee, unless the applicable package states that cleaning is already included.

For stays of more than 10 days, a mandatory mid-stay cleaning is scheduled after the first 10 days and every 7 days thereafter.

For ordinary reservations, each required mid-stay cleaning costs US$60.

For qualifying Savannah Carnival packages, required cleaning is already included in the all-in package price.

Unauthorised parties, fêtes and events are not permitted.

Any gathering beyond normal residential use requires prior approval.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the accommodation.

For eligible Carnival reservations booked sufficiently far in advance, the normal schedule is:

30% at booking 20% at 90 days before check-in 25% at 60 days before check-in 25% at 30 days before check-in

If you book after one of these milestones has already passed, the amount required at booking will be adjusted accordingly.

Payments are calculated from your final confirmed package price after any approved coupon or discount.

The confirmed Savannah Carnival package is all-in for the qualifying accommodation stay, which may be up to 31 nights.

It includes accommodation, initial cleaning and any required mid-stay cleaning.

The refundable US$200 security deposit remains separate.

Any approved promotional coupon or discount changes the confirmed package price without changing the applicable percentage-based payment and cancellation rules.

Six is the standard occupancy for the Savannah 2 Bedroom configuration, but larger groups may be approved by MJS Hideaways in advance.

Approval is considered case by case based on the sleeping arrangements, facilities and circumstances of the reservation.

Yes.

Direct booking through MJS Hideaways is available for guests who prefer to book directly through this website.

You may also choose to book through Airbnb, Your.Rentals or another third-party website or booking platform where MJS Hideaways is listed, if you prefer to use that service.

Availability, rates, payment options, cancellation policies, fees and other booking conditions may differ between platforms.

Bookings made through a third-party website or booking platform are subject to the terms, payment conditions, cancellation policy and customer-service procedures of that platform.
